Dance is the living heartbeat of Indian art, and folk dance is the very soul of our culture. The ancient Garba and Raas represent the original, spiritual essence of Gujarat’s rich heritage. Founded 25 years ago by Shri Bhavin Patel (Recipient of the prestigious Gujarat Gaurav Award), Panghat Kala Kendra was born out of a vital mission: to rescue our traditional art forms from being forgotten by the newer generations.
Unlike mainstream institutions that follow commercial, stereotyped trends, Panghat stands apart. We are dedicated to preserving and performing the ancient Garba of Gujarat in its most authentic, unaltered, and original form.
Our Impact & Achievements
Led by award-winning director Bhavin Patel, achieving national acclaim for preserving and promoting authentic Gujarati folk dances and Vibrant Navratri celebrations and cultural showcases for state, national, and international platforms.
Over the last two and a half decades, Panghat Kala Kendra has served as a selfless bridge between deep-rooted tradition and the contemporary youth:
Empowering the Youth: We have provided rigorous training and a global platform to more than 650 young artists, instilling in them a profound understanding of India’s diversified cultural roots.
The Next Generation: More than 1,000 children have been oriented toward ancient Garba, Raas, and traditional Indian dances, transforming them into proud carriers of our heritage.
Prestigious Platforms: We have proudly facilitated opportunities for budding local artists—many of whom had never left their hometowns—to perform before the President of India at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Prime Minister, and various national dignitaries.
Global Footprint: From local roots to international stages, our trained artists are now travelling the world, proudly proclaiming the beauty of Indian culture globally.
